The district court has issued a notice to Chairman PTI Imran Khan to appear in person at the next hearing in the Tosha Khana reference.


In the district court of Islamabad, a case was heard for criminal proceedings against Imran Khan in the Tosha Khana reference.


Imran Khan's lawyer, Ali Bukhari Advocate, while appearing in the court, applied for exemption from the presence of Chairman PTI.


Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal told Imran Khan's lawyer that the application was not even filed by Imran Khan, first give a power of attorney on behalf of Imran Khan.


The lawyer of the Election Commission objected and said that there is neither a power of attorney nor the signature of Imran Khan on the application, Imran Khan's bail cannot be granted until he appears in court.


The lawyer of the Election Commission also raised an objection to the request for immunity from the presence of Imran Khan and requested that if Imran Khan does not appear in the hearing, his warrant should be issued.


The court remarked that it will also look into Imran Khan's arrest warrant, the Election Commission should provide certified copies of the case to Imran Khan's lawyer.


The court accepted Imran Khan's request for exemption from attendance on medical grounds and issued a notice for attendance in personal capacity at the next hearing, and adjourned the hearing of the case till January 31.
