Pakistan squad announced for ODI series against New Zealand

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the national squad for the ODI series against the Kiwis, Shadab Khan was unable to make it to the team due to an injury. 

Babar Azam has been retained as the captain of the national team. 

Names of players 

Other players in the team include Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Haris Sohail, Imamul Haq, Kamran Ghulam, Muhammad Hasnain, Muhammad Nawaz, Muhammad Rizwan, Wasim Jr., Naseem Shah, Salman Ali Agha, Shahnawaz Dhani, Tayyab Tahir, and Osama Mir. Sarfraz Ahmed failed to make the squad, while Shadab Khan was ruled out due to injury.

The names of the players included in the squad were announced by Chief Selector Shahid Khan Afridi in a joint press conference in Karachi today, Thursday, January 5. Haroon Rasheed was also present with him on this occasion.

Addressing the press conference, Chief Selector Shahid Afridi said that the captain and the selectors are on the same page, our responsibility is ours, and the captain fulfills his responsibility. 

Referring to Babar Azam, Afridi said that the bigger the player Babar Azam is, the better the captain wants to see him.

Shahid Afridi said that it is such a chair that many people will be angry, it is a place of justice, and cannot please everyone. 

He also said that the performance of domestic cricket is very important, and the selection committee has completed all the consultations.
