The Supreme Court, while calling for a comprehensive plan to restore the railway system, has remarked that railways are the lifeline of Pakistan
The case related to the lease of Railway Golf Club was heard in the Supreme Court, a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Atta Bandial heard the case.
During the hearing, Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandyal remarked that the improvement of the railway system will be a great service to the common man, the same railway system can be operated in the neighboring country, so why not here.
The Chief Justice remarked that railways are the lifeline of Pakistan at whatever speed the train reaches its destination.
The Supreme Court ordered to submission of a comprehensive plan to make the railway profitable while seeking a comprehensive plan for the rehabilitation of the railway system. The court adjourned the hearing of the case till the week beginning January 23.
