Tehreek-e-Insaf withdrew the contempt of court petition against the Election Commission. 

Tehreek-e-Insaaf has withdrawn the contempt of court petition against the Election Commission on the issue of local body elections in Islamabad. 

The registrar of Islamabad High Court had raised objections to the petition against the head of the constitutional body, on which the PTI withdrew the contempt petition from the registrar's office.

It should be noted that the Islamabad High Court had ordered the Election Commission on December 30 to hold local elections in Islamabad on December 31. An intra-court appeal was filed against them.
