The United Nations has once again warned the Taliban to end their dangerous campaign against women.
The UN envoy to Afghanistan met with senior Taliban ministers in Kabul, urging the Taliban to stop discriminating against women.
United Nations representative Markus Portzel said that given the serious humanitarian situation facing Afghanistan, the ban on women's education and working for aid groups should be lifted, otherwise the economy of Afghanistan will be damaged.
It should be noted that on December 20, the Taliban ordered the closure of public and private universities for women immediately until further notice.
A few days after this ban, the Taliban also banned Afghan women from working in national and foreign NGOs, due to which aid agencies suspended their operations in Afghanistan.
According to the UN Mission in Afghanistan, Markus Putzel, in a meeting with the Afghan Minister of Education, demanded the immediate lifting of these restrictions.
The Taliban's minister of higher education, Nida Mohammad Nadeem, defended the ban on women, telling the UN envoy that it was important to stop the mixing of the sexes in universities while protecting the Afghan government's Islamic and national values for the development and improvement of Afghans. is working for
