Right before the release of Shah Rukh Khan's film Pathan, extremist Hindus descended on extremism, tore posters of the film, and staged protests.
Activists of the extremist Hindu organization Bajrang Dal vented their anger at a shopping mall in a posh area of Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The posters of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika's upcoming film Pathan have been torn down. The stands, posters, and other promotional materials put up for the promotion of the film were dismantled and removed from various places in the mall where the posters were displayed.
This series of protests against Shah Rukh Khan's film intensified when Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan's song Be Sharm Rang was released in the film. Extremist Hindus associated the song with a religious color. Extremist Hindus say that the lyrics of the song Be Sharm Rang and then Deepika's short saffron dress was criticized in it. This criticism is still ongoing, but as the release date of the film approaches, the protest is intensifying.
