Important meeting of Army Chief General Asim Munir with Saudi Defense Minister

Army Chief General Asim Munir (COAS General Asim Munir) held an important meeting with Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman in Riyadh on Wednesday, January 4. 


According to the Saudi news agency, in the meeting held in Riyadh, it was agreed to increase military and defense cooperation. 


Regional and international issues were also discussed in the meeting. Meanwhile, the Saudi defense minister stressed strengthening bilateral relations. Prince Khalid bin Salman also congratulated General Asim Munir on becoming the Army Chief. 


On the other hand, according to the statement released by the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), Army Chief General Asim Munir is on an official visit to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates from January 4 to 10.


According to the spokesman of the military organization, Army Chief General Asim Munir will meet the top leadership of both brotherly countries. 


The meetings will focus on mutual interest, military cooperation, and relations. Issues related to national security will be discussed during the visits. 


Ambassador of Pakistan Amir Khurram Rathore and Chief of Staff Major General Muhammad Irfan and Military Attache Brigadier Muhammad Asim participated in the meeting. 


Saudi Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Fayaz Al-Rawali and other senior officials were also present at the meeting.
